Students who currently already hold an MA are welcome to apply to do a PhD.
Please note that the following requirements are internal to the English Programme. You must also apply to the University for a PhD. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, that requires a further additional application. However, the first step is to arrange the support of the Programme by completing the form below.

Making an application
All students interested in undertaking a PhD in English at Otago must complete the simple online information sheet below. Please ensure you have carefully read the instructions and information on the supporting web pages before submitting your form. The information that you enter will be reviewed by our Director of Graduate Studies. Please note that we are unable to respond to all inquiries due to the volume that we receive. We will contact you only if we are interested in taking your application to the next step.
