Thirst for Knowledge: Southern Ocean controls on climate warming - novel approaches to disentangle complex problems
Large-scale processes in the Southern Ocean have implications for our climate regime. Dr Matt Druce (Department of Geology) will talk about how novel geochemical techniques can elucidate the exact processes controlling carbon cycling in the Southern Ocean’s past, present, and during future climate scenario(s). This talk will present some of the scientific approaches and tools used at the University of Otago to better understand the Southern Ocean’s role in modulating Earth’s climate system.
