Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences – 75 years of graduating classes celebrations
We're celebrating our alumni: Friday 28 – Saturday 29 March 2025. Sunday 30 March is optional for those who can stay,
Prepare for an engaging, entertaining and memorable program, filled with opportunities to get active, reconnect, and fuel your curiosity. We’re crafting an experience that balances plenty of accessible physical activities with enriching "mind food" to keep you learning and inspired in the exciting field of Physical Education, Sport, and Exercise Sciences.
This reunion is all about you, our alumni. If you have ideas or suggestions about what you’d like to do or see during your time back on campus, please let us know! We’ll do our best to incorporate as many of your requests as we can.

Programme highlights
Friday 28 March 2025
- Rapid-fire presentation morning: Rapid-fire talks by experts on current research, with a “mind food” and professional development focus
- School tours
- Try out some light-hearted PE curriculum activities (very casual and fitness not required)
- Casual picnic lunch on campus
- Tour Unipol’s impressive recreation facilities, and try them out
- Welcome evening at the University's bar, with "pub-style" light dinner
- Pub quiz in year and decade teams
Saturday 29 March
- Presentation morning starring Alumni: Entertaining 5–10 min talks by alumni speakers; group "think tank" discussions that all are welcome to participate in
- Wall of Fame discussion and nominations
- Afternoon of friendly and competitive activities; a mix of active and chilled-out options – more info released soon
- A formal(ish) dinner on campus, with entertaining speakers
Additional, informal day
Sunday 30 March
The "official" reunion is finished. If you have time, we're offering you a chilled-out day with other Phys Edders, enjoying a smorgasbord of relaxed, inclusive activities.
- Enjoy casual late breakfast or brunch together at Emerson's. Emerson's is a friendly, relaxed boutique brewery, restaurant, and cafe on the edge of campus, close to Logan Park
- Golf at Belleknowes Golf Course
- Group walk through the Botanic Gardens then a mini-bus for those who want to attack the steepest street in world, Baldwin Street
- Pickleball
- Friendly games of cards and snooker
- Bike down the harbour cycleway towards Port Chalmers (bike & e-bike hire)
- Friendly, fast(ish) cricket game on Logan Park
- Lawn bowls
Some Sunday activities will incur an extra individual fee. For instance, Emerson's food and refreshments, golf, and bike hire.
We'll survey registrants in February about what they'd like to do if staying on Sunday, and then confirm Sunday's offerings according to demand. We're also open to suggestions!

Inviting classmates
Attend individually, or invite your friends and classmates. Whether you choose to attend the celebration on your own or with a group, rest assured it will be a warm, welcoming, and truly inclusive experience.
We’re thoughtfully designing every activity to ensure that everyone, regardless of how they arrive, feels at ease and engaged socially. If you’d like to bring a group from your class, we’d be more than happy to help you spread the word and rally your classmates.

Registration
The registration fee is $290 for all activities on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 March, from 10am both days until late. There are also informal activities on the Saturday, many of which are free of charge.
You can also register for just the Friday 28 or Saturday 29 programme – fees are cheaper than the full registration.
