Christchurch 50th anniversary showcase
The University of Otago, Christchurch held an evening showcase Civic and Stakeholder event in June as part of its official Kia Mau 50th anniversary celebrations. Invited guests, including civic, academic, health leaders and alumni from across Ōtautahi, gathered for drinks and canapes in the campus’ Rolleston Foyer, followed by an introductory mihimihi, then official welcome from the Dean and Head of Campus, Professor Suzanne Pitama. Guest speakers included two notable Otago alumni - Minister of Health, Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall, and Dunedin-based businessman Sir Ian Taylor. The evening event followed on from the annual DARE Otago, secondary school open day on campus.
