Who is Te Tai Tuarā?
Te Tai Tuarā (TTT) is an association established to support Māori Commerce Students. The 2024 Executive is:
- Lachlan Williams: Te Pou-toko-manawa (President)
- Brooke Poutawera: Te Pou-tūā-rongo (Vice-President)
- Kaya Tanoa-Kaivananga: Te Pou Mātāmua (Senior Executive)
- Cody Thomson: Te Pou Ukauka (Treasurer)
- Nathaniel Williams: Te Pou a Ruawhetū (Secretary)
- Liam Beckham: Te Pou Pawhera Kōrero (Marketing and Communications Officer)
- Samuel O'Kane: Te Pou Rēhia (Social Events Officer)
Meaning of Te Tai Tuarā
The name speaks to combining tikanga and te ao Māori with sound business acumen and commerce graduates who are the strong backbone for our whānau, hapū, and iwi.
Te Tai Tuarā Mission
TTT aims to encourage and motivate excellence amongst Māori Commerce Students within the University and the wider business environment.
Te Tai Tuarā offers
TTT provides academic support and event opportunities to get involved and whakawhanaungatanga (network) outside regular university events. Ben, our amazing Kaiāwhina Māori, is also available for extra academic, financial, pastoral or career support.
