CARE conducts research in gerontology—the study of ageing in all its
aspects. While this has long been a crucial area of interdisciplinary
research, the importance of pursuing this work is increasing as the
impacts of ageing populations are being felt in Aotearoa New Zealand and
overseas.

Dr Paula O'Kane, along with Co-Investigators Associate Professor Sara Walton and Dr Diane Ruwhiu have a University of Otago Research Grant to support this work.
Predictors and impact of driving cessation on older adults and whānau/families (NZPATHS)
Associate Professor Rebecca McLean, Principal Investigator, and Co-Investigators Professor Jennie Connor, Professor Ngaire Kerse, Professor Jean Shope, Professor Sue Crengle, Associate Professor Joanne Taylor and Research Associate Professor Claire Cameron have been awarded a Health Research Council of New Zealand Project Grant to explore this topic.
