Sally has a Masters degree in Environmental Studies from Victoria University of Wellington and is currently completing her PhD part time as part of Energy Cultures 2 project. Sally also works part time as an independent contractor and consultant based in Wellington.
She has experience developing programmes to improve the energy efficiency of New Zealand homes from both a central government and community sector perspective.
Sally works broadly in the field of home performance and has a strong interest in enabling social change. Home performance is the science and practice of building and improving homes to make them as comfortable, safe, resource efficient and durable as possible.
Sally is particularly interested in the role of “middle” actors in driving a transition to better performance of New Zealand's existing homes. This is the focus of her PhD research.
