Minimum bookings
- Three half-day (4 hours, am or pm) bookings over 3 days per week is the minimum requirement for all children under 3 years.
(This is to ensure children attend enough to develop strong relationships with other children and teachers). - For children over 3 years, three 7-hour bookings is the minimum enrolment.
Please also read the notes on OUCA fees, which apply to both the current and old fees schedules:
Notes – OUCA fees
Notes
- A "Late pick up" fee is charged if children are not collected on time (at the Manager's discretion).
- Annual OUCA Membership fee charged when enrolment starts and thereafter in March – $10 per family.
- Full fees are charged on statutory holidays if they fall on an enrolled day.
(Note: 50 per cent holiday discount does not apply to statutory holidays). Parents of children enrolled part-week may arrange to use paid statutory holidays on another date within 2 months if space is available. - All absences due to sickness will incur full fees unless other arrangements are made with the office in cases of serious illness.
- Four weeks' advance notice is required when a child is finishing at the centre.
- If at least two weeks' notice is provided, a 50% discount on fees will be applied for leave lasting up to 3 consecutive weeks. If a child is absent for more than 3 weeks, full fees will apply to hold the child’s place.
- After 3 weeks of absence, children are no longer eligible for Ministry of Education funding for the remainder of their absence.
- Children over the age of three who usually receive 20 hours ECE of free Early Childhood Education (ECE) will be charged the full hourly rate for those hours after 3 weeks of absence. For example, a four-year-old child attends seven hours a day, five days a week. They receive 20 hours ECE, so fees are charged for the remaining 15 hours. After three weeks of absence, they will be charged for 35 hours for any continued absence.
- Where personal circumstances are difficult or complex, the Manager has the discretion to modify fees or requirements as necessary.
- The Childcare Subsidy from Work and Income New Zealand (WINZ) is available.
- As part of our enrolment process a deposit of $250 is required on acceptance of a place for your child at a centre. The deposit will be forfeited if the enrolment is cancelled between the time you sign the agreement to accept the place offered and 1 month after your child's start date at a centre. If the enrolment proceeds then the deposit will be credited to your child's fees account.
- We prefer fees to be paid weekly via automatic payment. However, fees must be paid in full within a week of receipt of the monthly statement. If you cannot pay, please speak to the Manager as soon as possible. If an outstanding debt is not addressed, a child's enrolment may be cancelled. We will pursue outstanding debts to the Court if necessary. The cost of recovering the debt will be charged to the debtor.
