Research interest and background

Zohreh's research interest is musculoskeletal disorders and clinical-based research studies.

She currently works on multiple trauma studies as an Assistant Research Fellow in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Medicine, working alongside Dr Jonathan Sharr and Dr Andrew B. Powell.

Zohreh graduated in Physiotherapy from Tehran University of Medical Science, Iran, with Bachelor and Master degrees, and then worked for eight years as a clinical physiotherapist before beginning her PhD at University of Otago. Her thesis focus was on scapular dyskinesis and subacromial shoulder pain.

During her PhD journey, she had the opportunity to contribute for four years to an anatomy tutorial offered by the University, which increased her enthusiasm for the musculoskeletal research field.

Zohreh anticipates that her role in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Medicine will assist her aspiration to become a prominent researcher in musculoskeletal disorders.
