Gethin is an Assistant Research Fellow exploring policy responses to energy and transport poverty in Aotearoa New Zealand. He is joint principal investigator on this project which has been awarded an Otago Energy Research Centre grant.
His previous research in the UK, which formed the dissertation for his Master of Public Health degree, considers local authority decision-making about “warm spaces” during Winter 2022–23.
Gethin is also a Public Health Registrar in the North West of England, currently on a 12 month period out of programme in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Prior to joining Public Health Specialty Training, Gethin worked for four years as a hospital doctor following graduation from the University of Liverpool School of Medicine.
