Information
Established in 2017 and funded by a gift to the University by Professor Joan (Jan) Mary Anderson, an internationally-acclaimed plant biologist/plant scientist renowned for her investigation of photosynthesis. Professor Anderson studied organic chemistry at the University of Otago and she obtained a BSc and MSc with first class honours. She spent most of her working life in Canberra, was elected to the Australian Academy of Science in 1987 and to the Royal Society of London in 1996. Professor Anderson died in Australia in August 2015 aged 83.
Applicants must:
- have a strong interest in Plant Biochemistry
- be based within the Biochemistry Department (as well as their supervisor)
- be intending to undertake 400-level study (Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, or the papers year of a Master of Science Degree)
