Overview
Are you passionate about a field in Humanities or the Arts and are looking for a practical and meaningful way to run with this passion and utilise it to benefit others? Why not consider a Master's or PhD in Health Humanities?
This growing and exciting field links the areas of Health Sciences with Humanities and the Arts in two ways:
- By exploring how the skills taught within Humanities can improve the teaching and learning for students in Health Sciences and make them better doctors, nurses, physiotherapists etc.
- By exploring ways in which Humanities and the Arts can be used to help patients and be a legitimate therapy in their own right.
The World Health Organisation has recently extensively reviewed this latter aspect and this could form the basis for research in New Zealand.

Depending upon your area of interest co-supervision will be arranged according to your research topic.
