The University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship provides funding to support doctoral students studying at the University of Otago.
The Scholarship is available to both domestic and international students. Candidates for professional doctorates, as well as the PhD, are welcome to apply.
Applicants must usually be:
- seeking to obtain their first doctoral qualification
Selection is based predominantly on academic merit and the applicant's potential for research.
Domestic applicants who are eligible for our guaranteed doctoral scholarship scheme will have applications considered on a rolling basis throughout the year. All other applications will be considered by Divisional panels convened quarterly in late March, June, September and November. To be considered at one of these meetings, applications must be submitted and a Departmental assessment made by the first day of each of the meeting months.
