Rainy McMaster is a graduate of the Otago Polytechnic School of Art. She works mainly with digital photography, text and video.
Prevalent recurring motifs, tropes and devices in her work are: Isolation arising from insular living, the imaginary workplace/
science lab/social construct as a crucible for loneliness. Botany and other various branches of natural science including weather
related phenomena (especially as a personal philosophy or personal affront). Alcohol - sometimes as a filter or as a cipher.
Interface and messages, especially the internet and one-way telepathy.
