Dr Andrew Reynolds, a Co-Director of the Edgar Diabetes and Obesity Research Centre (EDOR), has been given a University of Otago early career research award.
The outstanding achievement and community contributions of University of Otago – Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka researchers were recognised in the recent Otago Research Awards round. Dr Reynolds was one of eleven academics to be honoured for exceptional research activities.
Dr Reynolds' research focuses on lifestyle risk factors for type 2 diabetes and obesity, such as what we eat, and when and how we move. He undertakes systematic reviews and meta analyses to synthesise current research knowledge, as well as conducts randomised controlled trials to generate new knowledge.
His work has informed international clinical and dietary guidelines, including for the World Health Organization and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes.
