Our Wellington event was the third in a series of national meetings to continue to encourage collaborative action against the epidemics of diabetes and obesity. While original research is our core business, dissemination of our findings is just as important.
We were delighted at the attendance and engagement of participants, including representatives from several political parties. We are increasingly aware of how important a public groundswell is in influencing policy. Enabling a supportive environment, which encourages healthy lifestyle choices, is essential if we are to be successful.
