The Department of Women's and Children's Health is one of seven academic departments that make up the Otago Medical School, Dunedin Campus. It was formed in 1999 by combining the previous Department of Paediatrics and Child Health with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Professor Peter McIntyre is the current Head of Department (HoD), appointed in November 2022. Peter is based in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology section, in room 234.
Professor Ben Wheeler is the Head of the Paediatrics and Child Health Section.
Dr Helen Paterson is the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Section.
