Dawnelle ClyneDawnelle joined the economics department as a PhD student in April, 2017. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from St. George's University (Grenada), and a Master's degree in International Economic Policy and Analysis (with distinction) from the University of Westminster (United Kingdom).

Her current research focuses on income inequality and economic insecurity. The project has three main aims:
1. To investigate the deep determinants of income inequality.
2. To construct an Economic Security Index (ESI) for New Zealand by using micro-level data from the Household Labour Force Survey (HLFS) and the Household Economic Survey (HES).
3. To examine how economic insecurity relates to health outcomes in New Zealand using the Survey of Family, Income and Employment (SoFIE).

Her research interests include income inequality, economic insecurity, poverty, social mobility, health economics and economic growth.
