Kia ora, I'm Rebecca Bird, and like you, I'm an educator. Your role as a tutor or as a demonstrator is such an important one. And I'm here to give you a quick tour through the training resources we have to help you plan and run your teaching sessions and reflect on them. Whether you're new to teaching or you've been doing this for a while, there is something here for everyone and it's evolving as we speak, so this is a great time to tell us what you think as you're making use of them. Let's have a look at the resources we have available now.
If you like having a clear, detailed document with everything in one place, our PDF workbooks are for you. They’re our most in-depth resource, and you can download and edit them directly. No extra software needed.
Prefer something more interactive? Our online modules offer the same content as the workbooks, but in a more condensed and interactive format. You can choose from three display options. And the best part is, you can submit your answers as you go, which gives us feedback to make changes. If you complete just one module, make it this one. This is a short module on classroom skills designed to refine your teaching strategies.
Thanks for being part of this training program. We and your students appreciate your time.

Workshop Registration
Tutors, please register for a workshop. Each workshop is tailored to different teaching contexts:
- Paper Tutors – For those employed by a paper or programme.
- Supplementary Tutors – For tutors in colleges, support centres, or similar roles providing additional academic support.
- Demonstrators – For lab demonstrators and similar roles.
- Zoom workshops – Dedicated evening Zoom sessions for those who are unable to attend the daytime workshops.
While we recommend attending a session that aligns with your role, all workshops cover core tutoring skills within different teaching contexts.
