Current research
Dr Simone Drichel lectures in New Zealand and postcolonial literature, as well as literature and psychology. A cross-disciplinary researcher, her current work traverses the fields of continental philosophy and relational psychoanalysis to tackle questions of vulnerability and relationality, especially as they relate to narcissism as a pressing ethical problem.
Her work has appeared in a broad range of prominent journals—among them American Imago,Angelaki, Levinas Studies, Modern Fiction Studies, Philosophy & Social Criticism, Psychoanalysis, Self & Context, and Textual Practice—and she is the editor of two special issues: one on the theme of “Vulnerability” (SubStance 42,3) and the other on the theme of “Relationality” (Angelaki 24,3).
