AboutCrystal van Gorp was born and bred in Dunedin and completed an undergraduate degree in Food Science at the University of Otago (BSc). In 2021-2022 she took on further study in the Food Science department over summer developing 5 different plant-based yoghurt using plant-based milk alternatives. In 2022 she did her post-graduate degree in the Food Science Department (BSc(Hons)) where she researched the volatile compounds found in e-liquids sold in New Zealand using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Between the end of 2022 and 2023 Crystal underwent industrial experience at Fonterra as a Laboratory Technician in the Chemistry and Sensory department as well as a GC-MS research and developer. At the end of 2023 Crystal took on the role as a Food Grade Laboratory Technician in the Department of Food Science. In this role she assists with the smooth sailing of the Food Grade teaching laboratories. |
