An opportunity to experience life on campus

The On-Campus Experience (OCE) scholarship provides an amazing opportunity for Year 13 secondary students of Māori descent to experience learning at the University of Otago. The scholarship covers flight costs, accommodation at a residential college, food and all programme activities.

Students will explore the campus and have the opportunity to attend lectures in their areas of interest. The OCE allows students to experience life in a residential college and meet academics and support staff in Te Huka Mātauraka, our Māori Centre.

Who can apply?

You should consider applying for the On-Campus Experience if you:

  • Are a Year 13 student of Māori descent currently enrolled in a New Zealand secondary school
  • Have acquired NCEA L2 with merit endorsement (or an equivalent for CIE and IB students)
  • Are considering studying at the University of Otago in 2026

Programme dates

The On-Campus Experience will run between Sunday, 29 June and Thursday, 3 July 2025.

Applications

Applications open on Monday, 10 February 2024 and close on Friday, 14 March 2025.
