Professor Emeritus Richard Bedford, QSO, FRSNZ
Richard ('Dick') Bedford is Emeritus Professor at the University of Waikato and the Auckland University of Technology and is President of the Royal Society Te Apārangi. He is a population geographer who specialises in migration research and since the mid-1960s he has been researching processes of population movement and demographic change in the Asia-Pacific region.
Seán Brosnahan
Seán Brosnahan is a curator at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum, New Zealand's leading specialist social history museum. He has written extensively on Scottish and Irish migration and settlement in southern New Zealand and developed numerous migration-related exhibitions, including on Dutch, Chinese and Polish settlement in Otago.
Professor Emeritus Sir Tom Devine, FBA
Tom is the Sir William Fraser Chair of Scottish History and Palaeography Emeritus at the University of Edinburgh and the inaugural Director of its Scottish Centre for Diaspora Studies. He is regarded as the leading authority on the history of modern Scotland and its diaspora.
Paul Naidu
Paul is the former manager of English Language Partners Dunedin where he worked for 13 years. He presently works as a Senior Advisor (Community & Partnerships) for the Ministry of Ethnic Communities. He is also a member of Dunedin Migrant Sector Partners and a founding member of the Dunedin Former Refugee Steering Group. He has extensive experience of working with migrants and former refugees.
Sir Anand Satyanand
Anand was born and raised in Auckland to an Indo-Fijian family. He is a former Chair of the Commonwealth Foundation in London and was Governor-General of New Zealand between 2006 and 2011.
Dr Ruth DeSouza
Ruth is the Academic Convenor of the Data, Systems and Society Research Network (DSSRN), and Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Clinical Informatics and Population Health Informatics at the University of Melbourne. A Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, Ruth is particularly concerned with health inequities among refugee, migrant and indigenous communities.
Distinguished Professor Paul Spoonley, FRSNZ
Paul is Pro-Vice Chancellor of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Massey University. A sociologist, he has published widely on migration to New Zealand.
Professor Brenda S.A. Yeoh
Brenda is Professor (Provost's Chair) in the Department of Geography as well as Research Leader of the Asian Migration Cluster at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. Her research interests include the politics of space, cosmopolitanism, gender, citizenship, and international student mobilities.
