Overview

Nitric oxide is a potent signalling molecule involved in the regulation of the cardiovascular system, neurotransmission, and the immune response. We are developing new nitric oxide releasing drugs to combat a range of diseases, with a focus on cancer therapy. Opportunities exist for students interested in synthetic approaches to drug discovery, drug formulation, and the analysis of drug mechanism-of-action, to join our multi-disciplinary team to help develop these new therapeutic agents towards clinical trials. Successful applicants will train in a drug discovery programme that provides a pathway into a career in the pharmaceutical sector, and candidates with a background in chemistry, biochemistry, or pharmacology, are strongly encouraged to apply.
