The Division has oversight of some aspects of postgraduate research degrees (PhD, EdD, DMA, MA and other degrees with a thesis component. These degrees are managed in eVision, and involve various signatures.

Taught masters' and honours degrees, and postgraduate diplomas are largely administered by subject Programmes in accordance with degree regulations.

To apply for conference funding, PhD students will need to complete and send to the Humanities Divisional Office the following form:
Māori and Pacific Bridging Scholarships
The Division of Humanities at the University of Otago offers a number of Bridging Scholarships for Māori and Pacific students. Closing dates are usually toward the end of the academic year.
These awards are designed to encourage graduating Māori and Pacific students to proceed to their first year of taught postgraduate study in Humanities.

Taught or coursework masters' and honours degrees, and postgraduate diplomas
Taught or coursework masters' degrees, honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas usually comprise a number of postgraduate papers, and often a research component (dissertation, project, or similar) of 40-60 points. These programmes are usually administered within their subject Programme, with Divisional oversight by the Associate Dean Graduate Studies.
These guidelines apply to the examination of all 400- and 500-level dissertations, reports and projects, and include information about extensions.
