The University of Otago Library Digital Humanities Guide

The guide aims to support digital humanities scholarship and practice by connecting people to the methods, tools, projects and other people transforming humanities scholarship in the digital realm.

The Digital Humanities Hub

The Digital Humanities (DH) Hub – Te Pokapū Matihiko o Te Kete Aronui, is a shared Humanities Division resource, open to staff and students.

It is located in room 1.C.10, which is on the first floor of the Arts Building on the Dunedin campus at the University of Otago.

The DH Hub is home to a:

  • Creative Media suite – Taiwhanga Pāpāho Auaha, and
  • Linguistics Lab – Taiwhanga Mātai Wetereo.

The Hub is maintained by the Digital Humanities Initiative (DHI) steering group. The DHI provides strategic oversight for digital humanities curriculum and the associated DHUM course code. Staff or students who would like more information about digital humanities offerings at Otago can contact the current DHI Chair.

The Digital Humanities Expo

The Digital Humanities Expo is an annual event showcasing Otago digital humanities scholarship alongside national and international speakers, in order to provoke discussion and to build a thriving community of digital research and teaching practice in the arts and humanities at Otago.
