Rainbow Tick accreditation
The University of Otago was recognised as a Rainbow Tick certified employer in 2018.
Rainbow tick accreditation shows that the University has met a standard of inclusivity with respect to staff sexual orientation and gender identity, and that the University is committed to continuous improvement.
Each year, the University participates in a recertification process with the Rainbow Tick programme.
What is a Rainbow Tick?
Rainbow Tick is a certification mark awarded to organisations that complete a diversity and inclusion certification process. The certification process assesses whether a workplace understands, values and welcomes sexual and gender diversity.
Professional development
Rainbow Tick Diversity and Inclusivity Training aims to develop cultural competency around LGBTTIQA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, takatāpui, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual) communities with a clear focus on how this matters in the workplace.
