The New Zealand Law Foundation (NZLF) Centre for Law and Policy in Emerging Technologies is the only New Zealand-based research centre that examines the legal, ethical and policy issues around new technologies.
These include biotechnology, nanotechnology, neurotechnologies and the internet.
A framework for the evaluation of emerging technologies
The NZLF's vision for the Centre's work – led by Director Professor Colin Gavaghan – is to encourage the formulation of a framework for the systematic and comprehensive evaluation of emerging technologies, and to build New Zealand's legal and policy capability in these developing areas.
