The Gulistan is a collection of poems and stories and is regarded as a landmark literary work in Persian literature. Written in 1259, it is one of two magna opera of the Persian poet Sadi, considered one of the greatest medieval Persian poets. This commentary by Mahmud ibn Osman is written in Turkish using Arabic-based Ottoman-Turkish script.
