(Opens in new window) As revealed in the Register in cabinet three, there have always been visitors to the Bibliography Room. One such group was the Otago Graphic Arts Club, of which Dr Maslen was a founding committee member. Flourishing from 1970 to 1987, this group had as its first object ‘to promote and encourage a better understanding amongst persons engaged in any way or capacity in the Printing Industry, or any allied trade or profession’ (Constitution, 1974). This Keepsake was printed to mark the visit of the Club in 1971. Other visitors included Ruth Dallas and the artist Els Noordhof, seen here with Maslen examining proofs of Dallas’s Ragamuffin Scarecrow, printed in the Bibliography Room in 1969.
