(Opens in new window) Over the years, a small number of University-wide publications were given hand-printed covers which, while not great samples of design, were certainly different. Various Proceedings of the Otago branch of the Library Association, L. B. D. Heenan’s work on internal migration in the South Island (1968), a Festival Handbook for the Students Association (1970), and the Robert Graves Collection at the Otago University Library (1972) received their standard blue textured covers. To the left of the cover to the supplement listing of Esmond de Beer’s rare book collection are sheets that show some of the printing processes: the outside frames and ornament placement followed by completed text announcing the programme for Lady Audley’s Secret (1964).
