The book jacket design on A.R.D Fairburn's first book is very much like the work of the American artist McKnight Kauffer. According to Dinah Holman, Fairburn's daughter, and biographer James McNeish, Fairburn designed the jacket, chose the hand-made paper for the book and paid for the printing of the edition. Limited to 25 copies only, this book with a pristine jacket is a New Zealand rarity.
