Max Brand, Trailin'!

Max Brand (b.1893), one of America's most popular and prolific novelists and author of such enduring works as Destry Rides Again and the Doctor Kildare stories, died on the Italian front in 1944. He wrote under Frederick Faust, his real name, and many others, including Frank Austin, George Owen Baxter, Walter C Butler, George Challis, Evan Evans, John Frederick, Frederick Frost, David Manning, and Peter Henry Morland. The illustrator Modest Stein (1871-1958) was a friend of Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman.
