Alexander Monro (primus), The Anatomy of Human Nerves.
Anatomy of the Human Bones and Nerves was published in several editions, each of which vary somewhat because Primus was constantly revising and improving his knowledge and his lectures. This fifth edition of 1750 is an interleaved copy which contains numerous author notes and a list of twenty-two books that Primus may have used to assist in the editing process. The preface also includes a note to the effect that Primus no longer agreed with his teacher Boerhaave and his 'simplistic' descriptions of the heart, even though Primus continued to teach in that manner because it was easier.
