Termed a ‘classic Australian pulp’ by Bob Sheppard of Warrigal Press, Macdonnell’s Operation MissSat features Mark Hood, an international spy who, on the cover of the first edition at least, looks very James Bond-like. Other Hood titles include Come Die with Me and The Bamboo Bomb. The cover of the second edition conveys something of the plot, where Hood is confronted by the revival of a fanatical Samurai cult. The second edition cover also carries incorrect spacing between Miss and Sat.
