Under Flagstaff
Some books lend themselves to particular publishers. This anthology began with a folder of photocopies of a few well-known poems, and a mental list of names of writers who had written something relevant on Dunedin. The collection, finally ordered in a geographic sense with poems spiralling outwards from the heart of the Octagon (and Robbie Burns) to pubs, student flats, the University, beaches, hill-tops, the harbour and beyond, was edited by locals Heather Murray and Robin Law, who unfortunately died before the book was printed. The photograph on the front is by Gary Blackman.
