The Pavlova Story
Books published these days by the Press are illustrated with photographs; line drawings, etc., which are incorporated into the text or clumped together, depending on the text. Unusually for an academic author, Professor Helen Leach scanned the images for The Pavlova Story and adjusted them through Photoshop, providing great assistance for designer Jenny Cooper. The design and colour of the cover for this best seller was determined by Leach and Wendy Harrex, who chose the green as a reflection of the classic cream-covered pavlova with kiwifruit on top. But there will always be 'pavlova' controversies: a later reviewer commented on the symbolism of the choice of Australian colours for the cover.
