Gavin has completed his Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Sustainable Business within the Department. He is working towards completing his PhD, with the research topic centring around collaboration for circular economy ecosystems in the construction industry. Gavin is extremely passionate about sustainability (social, environmental, cultural, and financial), and tries to include this perspective throughout all his research and teaching. He attempts to use He Awa Whiria – a braided rivers approach throughout all areas he is involved in, to provide diverse perspectives, uphold the mana of knowledge, and integrate different knowledge streams around topics and issues within Aotearoa New Zealand. Gavin is a member of the Teaching and Learning committee, and a member of Te Maea: Māori and Indigenous Enterprise and Economy Network based out of Te Kura Pakihi – the Otago Business School.
