Troy Mihaka has previously developed and managed businesses specialising in tourism, literature and lobbying. Troy has worked extensively in New Zealand, Australia and Germany.
Prior to joining the University of Otago in 2021 as an MBA student, Troy worked as a commercial development manager in the performing arts sector and as a lobbyist for local government issues in Wellington.
Troy was raised in Port Chalmers, a small seaside town famous for its artistic connections. The child of a family blending old-Scottish heritage with South Taranaki iwi. A product of both worlds, Troy views his academic pursuits as one method to find bridges spanning the barriers between those spaces.
Troy is the divisional rep for the School of Business to Te Poutama Māori.
