Dr Ally Calder
Dr Ally Calder is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Physiotherapy Christchurch. She values a genuine collaborative participatory approach to all her areas of practice; as a clinician, a clinical educator, and a researcher.
Ally is an emerging early career researcher with interests in men's health, physical activity, health messaging, accessibility, and environmental enrichment within neurorehabilitation and disability contexts. Her PhD research explored access to physical activity for men following stroke.
She is committed to building strong active partnerships with our people, whānau, and communities; an approach she believes ensures that design and delivery of healthcare is meaningful and meets the end-users aspirations.
Mr Adrian Te Patu
For over four decades, Adrian has worked for government departments, crown agencies, community organisations, iwi and health providers. He has also been a member of various government reference and advisory groups.
Adrian is a director of ManuKahu Associates - indigenous consultants specialising in Tiriti alignment, research, indigenous consultation, public health leadership, Māori capacity and capability development, mentoring, scoping, resource development, social marketing, relationship management, international speaking, and facilitation.
Adrian’s current leadership, governance, and advisory roles include: Chair of the Māori Caucus of the Public Health Association of New Zealand; Board of Directors, Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand; Chair of the Indigenous working group of the World Federation of Public Health Associations. Adrian has served on the board of the Health Promotion Forum of New Zealand, Canterbury West Coast Cancer Society, as the first indigenous member of the governing council for the World Federation of Public Health Associations, and two terms as an elected member in local government. Adrian has a master’s degree in social work and postgraduate qualifications in clinical teaching, public health and community psychiatric care.
