Te Ara Hauora: Māori Health Sciences outreach
Te Ara Hauora is a suite of outreach programmes focused on increasing Māori secondary student science engagement, and recruitment into Health Sciences study and health professional career pathways.
Tū Kahika: A Health Sciences Scholarship programme for Māori
Tū Kahika is a two-semester (February to October) Health Sciences programme run within Foundation Year. Tū Kahika prepares Māori students academically for their first year of tertiary study and a future career in Māori health.
Te Whakapuāwai: Health Sciences First Year achievement
Te Whakapuāwai is a programme to support Māori students enrolled in Health Sciences First Year (HSFY). All Māori students enrolled in HSFY receive ongoing information and guidance about the programme from the MHWDU as soon as they enrol.
Tū Tauira Hauora: BSc and health professional programme support
Tū Tauira Hauora provides support, information and guidance for Māori students wanting to gain entry into a professional programme via second-year, graduate, or alternative entry pathways. Tū Tauira Hauora is also a retention and professional development programme for Māori students enrolled in professional programmes.
