Investigating the real-world impact of time-restricted eating with exercise – Protocol for the TREx Study
While healthy eating and exercise is known to improve health, real world adherence can be a challenge.
Time-restricted eating (TRE), which limits when – but not what – people eat, is a simple strategy that may support weight loss and cardiometabolic health. Combining TRE with exercise could further enhance these benefits.
The TREx study explores how feasible and effective TRE is when paired with different types of exercise, including high-intensity interval training ( HIIT ), moderate-intensity exercise, and resistance training, in real-world settings.
Here, we present the study protocol and initial data from the first six weeks.
