Professor Elizabeth Shakman Hurd – Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois (USA) presents the last of three Albert Moore lectures

It is not possible to understand what is happening in Gaza, or in the US, without understanding the religious politics of American support for Israel.

This talk examines the religious dimensions of the political life of US-Israeli relations. It approaches the US-Israeli relationship as a single entity, with the two nations merged into one: “AmericaIsrael.”

It concludes with a discussion of the politics of rising domestic opposition to the American-Israeli destruction of Gaza.
