A talk by Emeritus Professor Jim McQuillan hosted by the Friends of the Hocken Collections

Burns Reserve, which spans the West Harbour slopes of Signal Hill, was formed in 1907. Our guest speaker will illustrate the location and features of the Reserve, summarise its chequered management history, outline its current challenges, and describe the work of the Friends of Burns Reserve Trust.

Jim McQuillan originates from a farm near Mataura. He is a retired Otago physical chemistry academic, specialising in molecules at surfaces, now concluding a McQuillan family history book as well as leading the Friends of Burns Reserve Trust.

All welcome.
