The University of Otago in Dunedin (New Zealand) is delighted to host KOZWaves 2024, the 6th Australasian conference on wave science, from Wednesday 31 January to Friday 2 February 2024.

The KOZWaves conference series provides a forum for contemporary research on wave science, promoting interdisciplinary collaborations between Australasian wave scientists and international researchers. It focusses on advancing mathematical, numerical and experimental techniques, and modelling across the different branches of wave science, including acoustics, elasticity, electromagnetics, gravitation, optics, seismology, and water waves among others.

Registration and abstract submission for KOZWaves 2024 are now closed.

Conference information

KOZWaves 2024 will be hosted on the University of Otago campus, at the Moot Court lecture theatre in the Richardson Building.

Catering will be provided for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea all three days of the conference.

Conference dinner

The conference dinner (included in the registration fee) will be held at the beautiful, historical Larnach Castle on the Otago Peninsula, with transport to the venue from the city provided.

Icebreaker BBQ

An icebreaker BBQ (also included in the registration fee) will also be held on Tuesday 30 January at the University Staff Club. Please register your interest to attend the icebreaker during registration.

Student accommodation

For students attending the conference, we have organised to have rooms at discounted rates in one of the university residential college ($70 per night including breakfast). Please get in touch with Fabien Montiel by email fabien.montiel@otago.ac.nz if you are interested in this offer.
