Friday 24 February 2023 | Rolleston Lecture Theatre

The origin of the Centre for Free Radical Research dates back to two publications at the end of 1972. Fifty years on the group is still going strong, having recently won the 2022 University of Otago Research Group Award. A symposium will be held in the Rolleston Lecture Theatre on Friday 24 February 2023 to celebrate our first fifty years and the presentation of the award.

Starting at 10.00am, the symposium will feature a series of short talks from past and present Free Rads and collaborators. These will be targeted to a general audience, and showcase a mix of past and current research, along with future directions of the group. The symposium will finish by 4.00pm, following presentation of this year's Winterbourn Lecture by Professor Mike Murphy from the University of Cambridge. Opportunities for further socialising will be available following the symposium.
