EDOR joined Diabetes NZ members for their #dawn4diabetes event today, Thursday 7 April, to mark World Health Day.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) chose diabetes as the focus for World Health Day 2016. As the burden and consequences of diabetes is increasing, the WHO is calling for more action to prevent diabetes, as well as to diagnose, treat and care for those with the disease.
The number of people living with diabetes worldwide has nearly quadrupled since 1980, with at least 7% of adults in NZ having diabetes and more than 27% with prediabetes.
EDOR and Diabetes NZ members gather at the #dawn4diabetes event in Dunedin to mark World Health Day 2016.
