Sir Eion Edgar is completing the Diabetes NZ Fitbit MoveMeant challenge, with the aim of walking at least 200,000 steps in two weeks and raising more than $100,000 for Diabetes NZ.
Chair of the EDOR advisory board, Sir Eion was instrumental in establishing The Edgar Diabetes and Obesity Research Centre in 2003 through financial support from the Eion and Jan Edgar Charitable Trust. The Centre aims to reduce the global burden of diabetes and obesity through research and dissemination of knowledge.
Sir Eion is committed to helping those with diabetes, both through supporting research and by assisting organisations such as Diabetes NZ, of which he is the patron.
