A new food stall has opened in The Link’s Hawkers’ Alley and up to six food stalls will rotate through the area depending on the season and time of year.
The latest addition, Every Day Sundae, aims to make every weekday a funday for an ice-cream sundae, cone ice-cream, donut or dessert, between 11am and 2pm.
The sundaes range from Groovey and Death by Chocolate to Tropical, Coffee Caramel, and Banana. The cone ice-creams come in many flavours and the stall also sells loaded donuts, and dessert cups made on-campus, including mousses, gateaux and puddings.
Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science student Allegra Huband-Watson says it is great to now have more options on campus.
Bachelor of Commerce Marketing student Maggie Huang says the spot is now popular every day.
Hawkers’ Alley aims to sell competitively priced, tasty bites in this important hub on Otago’s Dunedin campus, in response to requests for more variety. Currently, the other two street food-style stalls are:
- Uncle Hong’s – open Mondays to Fridays, serving rice-based Asian offerings, topped with a choice of vegetables, proteins, curries, and sauces, including vegetarian.
- Wasabi – open Mondays to Fridays, stocking a variety of freshly made sushi.
This contributes to the University’s Pae Tata Strategic Plan to 2030, which envisages the campus having vibrant spaces that meet students’ needs and contribute to their outstanding experiences at Otago.
