Professor Jim Mann, interviewed by Charmian Smith for the Otago Daily Times, discusses what the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations are telling us about sugar, and what we can do in response.
Professor Mann describes the findings that form the basis of the recommendations, and what those recommendations mean. He provides information about different forms of sugars and what we should be alert to when making decisions about the food we consume. He also has practical suggestions about how we can reduce, or replace, sugar in our diet and cooking.
Professor Mann also covers what we could be doing as a nation, if we're serious about reducing health risks influenced by sugar consumption.
